在图书馆看到这本书,Ira Levin的小长篇The Stepford Wives,封面为电影剧照,Kidman主演。这本书其实已经两次拍成电影,大概是这个电影名太“平”,所以有个很“那个”的译名:“复制娇妻”。书很好,1972年问世,一直在版,显然已是经典之作。最后我要说的是:#我翻译了这本书#,即将出版。
看一位老师提到“波拉尿”(Roberto Bola?o),让我笑出了声。今年中午还在图书馆看到他的好几人本英译本来着,但是没有借。话说世纪文景买了好多罗贝托·波拉尼奥的书,要像出帕慕克一样出他,将是西语文学界的大事。

我挺喜欢这个词的,breakwater,防波堤。港口外侧一般都有防波堤,用以阻挡海上浪涌,使港内水面平静。如果没有防波堤,就容易造成靠码头的船撞击码头或者断缆。年初公司出了桩事故:某船转向角度不够,直接冲上了防波堤,造成巨大损失。图为今年1月我在赤几马拉博港拍的一张照片,左侧即为防波提。

1993年大学毕业到广州后,因为能看到香港两个英文台放的原版片,觉得好幸福!“明珠930” 是我心中的王牌节目。每星期从报摊上购买私印的“香港电视”节目单,将计划看的节目早早圈好,到时便静候在电视机前。现在呢,“明珠930”已经取消,可看的电影太多,不够的只是时间!
再看《上来透口气》,本来只是想查个词改一下,却成了大面积修订,上次细看还是08年12月江苏人民版出来后。不时惭愧,不知这几年进步了还是之前译得太差。例如这次把“回到二十年不曾见过的地方”改为“回到阔别二十年的地方”,怎么以前从未想到“阔别”?不敢自满,永远在修订,我对译过的都是如此。
